The Factory Bar, a stylish and vibrant venue, offers a variety of experiences including craft and signature cocktails which showcase our own house-distilled spirits, expertly crafted to highlight their unique character and flavour. 🍸
We also sell locally produced wine, beer, cider (Pinot Grigio, Shiraz, Rose wines & IPAs, Lagers, Stout beer & Scrumpy Cider ).
The Factory Bar, features live music in the evenings on weekends. Whether you’re into jazz, soul, rhythm & blues, swing or classical music, you’ll find a vibrant atmosphere with music to match. This makes for a dynamic environment, perfect for socialising or just enjoying the rhythm.
Enjoy our courtyard open fire pit– dogs on leashes are welcome to come along with their owners- join the Distillery Dogs Hall of Fame with a photo of your favourite pooch, who will be in the running to be selected as Distillery Dog of the Month with owners able to select their choice of Blue Mountains Gin Company spirits.
The Factory Bar hosts a range of music, corporate conferences & private functions (accommodates 60 internal & 30 external).
Enjoy our chef-created bar food menu – choose from a range of savoury and sweet options with seasonal produce which is perfect for sharing (or keeping to yourself!). Featuring items such as Reubens, Rarebits on sourdough, delicious deserts, cheese and charcuterie platters and more….

Cocktail Classes are available for groups of 10 or more, offering a fun, hands-on experience in the art of mixing craft cocktails. 🍸 These classes are offered each Saturday however, special arrangements outside of these days can be discussed for people who would like to “learn the craft of cocktail-making”- please contact Jann on 0457 486 587.
Spirits of the Mountains
Blue Mountains Gin Company puts spirits where they should be – on top of the mountains. Our gins, vodkas and other products are inspired by the magnificent Blue Mountains, rising more than one kilometre above sea level west of Sydney. This World Heritage region of sandstone escarpments and eucalypt wilderness draws millions of visitors each year. It’s an inspiring place and our company is driven by the notion that both people value and appreciate products that are mode here locally. In the photo at right, North Katoomba – where our distillery and bar are located – is in the foreground, with the valleys and Mount Solitary in the distance.
What We Make
Our growing range of gins, vodkas and other drinks offers a wide field of flavours to please the palates of discerning drinkers. From our smooth Classic London Dry-style to our delicious new Shiraz Gin and our top-rated award-winning Wild Dog Vodka, you can be assured of quality products. We also have a ready-to-drink pre-mixed Boars Head Negroni and a popular alcoholic Ginger Devil Ginger Beer, among other offerings. Small-batch Production
We are a craft distillery creating small batches of alcoholic drinks products. We utilise two distillation units (stills), one for gin and the other for vodka output. All parts of the process are hands-on; there is no automated production system. Botanicals are prepared by hand, as are bottling, corking and packaging for sale. This is the inverse of mass manufacturing in big-scale plants where machines do nearly all the work. Our system is labour-intensive rather than capital-intensive, and fortunately many people appreciate the specialness of this approach.
Our Bar & Tasting Room
The Blue Mountains Gin Company distillery started making gin five years ago, in 2021. Building on the success of our products since then, two years ago we launched The Factory Bar, located at 24 Whitton Street, North Katoomba. The bar showcases our products and also operates as a general bar, with cocktails, bar food, regular entertainment and a great atmosphere.
As the only licensed bar north of the highway in Katoomba, and the only one in the Blue Mountains connected with a functioning distillery, The Factory Bar is unique. It offers a relaxed atmosphere in stylish rooms that retain elements of their former life as a factory building with an interesting history.
Because of its location, parking at the bar is easy and, in the front garden visitors are greeted on most evenings with a friendly blaze in an open metal fireplace. Inside, there’s usually plenty of seating (not guaranteed on busy nights) and friendly staff behind the bar ready to serve customer.
Live music by local acts takes place on Friday and Saturday from about 6.30 to 8.30pm. Customers regularly tell us The Factory Bar is among their favourite venues in the mountains: Come and check it out, if you have not visited yet.

Our Vision
We have set ourselves the challenge of capturing the spirit of the mountains in a range of quality spirits under the BM Gin label. In doing so, we pay homage to venerable traditions in the centuries-old spirit drinks industry while embracing the innovative artisan distiller movement that’s creating exciting new spirits around Australia.
Scores of small distilleries are working hands-on to turn out bespoke batches of terrific new spirits. These premium products – and the many customers keen to enjoy them – are key to the spectacular ‘rebirth’ of gin as one of the most versatile of spirit drinks for good taste and good times. BM Gin wholeheartedly supports this trend.
