Blue Mountains Gin Company’s two introductory gin lines are now selling at the prestigious Carrington Hotel in Katoomba.
The brand-new Mountain Devil Classic and Mountain Devil Black Label 700ml gins are available in the Carrington’s quality liquor retail shop, located on the Park Street side of the historic hotel building.
With their distinctive labels featuring a ‘devil doll’ made from the seed pod of a Mountain Devil plant, the drinks are distinctive modern versions of the ever-popular traditional dry gin.
As its name suggests, Mountain Devil Classic offers a smooth, full-bodied flavour that’s as fresh as a mountain morning. Mountain Devil Black Label offers great mouthfeel, with a spiced-pepper tang to thrill the taste buds.
Blue Mountains Gin Company is delighted to have its first gins on the retail shelves in the Cellar & Deli section at the Carrington, a Katoomba landmark and one of Australia’s most historic hotels.
Located in the old power station, famous for its imposing brick chimney, the cellars’ industrial interior displays local, regional and imported deli items, along with a selected range of wines, beers and spirits.
The Carrington opened in 1883 as a premier mountain retreat with superior facilities that hosted elite visitors from Sydney and overseas. Later this grand hotel become the destination of choice for a generation or so of honeymooners.
Visitors are impressed by the hotel’s sumptuous Grand Dining Room, altered only slightly from its original 1887 design, with stately columns, a vaulted ceiling and gleaming silver cabinet.
In addition to accommodation, dining and bar facilities, the Carrington hosts regular special events. Centrally located and a favourite among locals and visitors alike, the hotel is widely recognized as the heart of Katoomba.
